How to Prepare your Dance Performance Audition Video

We would like you to film yourself performing the following to camera.

  • State your name and why you have selected these pieces for your audition

Two routines that demonstrate two different dance styles, each of no more than 1 minute in duration.

Don’t worry we’re not looking for a multi camera film shoot! Mobile phone footage is fine as long as we can see and hear you clearly.

How to prepare your Musical Theatre Audition Video

We would like you to film yourself performing the following to camera.

  • State your name, the piece(s) you will be performing and why

Your chosen Performance Pieces

  1. A monologue – up to one minute in duration from a published play or musical
  2. A verse and chorus from a song that features in a musical. Please use a backing track to accompany your song
  3. A dance routine in a dance style of your choice lasting at least 16 bars of music. Please use music to accompany your dance

Don’t worry, we’re not looking for a multi camera film shoot. Mobile phone footage is fine as long as we can see and hear you clearly.

How to prepare

We’re delighted that you are interested in studying with us at LMA. As part of the application process for this course we would like to investigate your interest in creative filmmaking a little further. You have a choice in how you do this – you can either send us an example of work OR develop an ideas pitch for a short film you would like to make – It’s up to you.

Option 1: Upload a film or showreel

Select an example of practical film work you have made or worked on [maximum duration 5 minutes], and either upload them directly, or provide the link to an external digital platform where they are held using our Dropbox link below

OR

Option 2: Create and send in a filmed pitch
Please film yourself conducting a pitch for a short film idea in a genre of your choice. You should consider all aspects of your film concept including. visual style, locations and narrative.
