Course Overview

The following areas make the programme of study:

  • Dance Styles including: ballet, tap, jazz, modern, street, contemporary and commercial
  • Dance Technique including: skills, character and storytelling
  • Rehearsal and Performance Skills
  • Live Performance
  • Recorded performance including music videos
  • Self Promotion and networking
Entry Requirements
  • A minimum of four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
  • For students without a Grade 4, or above, in English and Maths, you will need to resit these qualifications at LMA.
  • Digital audition
Progression Routes

After the Post-16 course, students can progress via many different routes.

The following are what students may go on to do:

  • Study for a Dance Performance degree with us at LMA Liverpool or LMA London
  • Study at an alternative University
  • Professional dance work within a live or recorded medium
  • Performing and teaching after further education

The Post – 16 BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice (Dance) is a two-year course that involves the study of a range of dance skills development, dance and performing arts industries and collaborative live performance.

The extended diploma is equivalent in size to three A Levels.
